I'm not going to lie... I hate summer. I'm much more of a fall/winter girl; maybe because I'm a December Baby.
This month's theme challenge was to capture and interpret "summer." For most that means sunshine, BBQs, and a day at the beach here in San Diego. For me, it's never-ending days, heat and humidity, a higher power bill from running the A/C, and dealing with cats that shed too much. And with the exception of one person, everyone I've known that's passed away has done so in the summer, most recently my father-in-law on (of all days) this past Father's Day.
I guess you could say that I'm the Grinch of Summer. About the only things I do like about this season is iced, cold drinks like beer, iced coffee and tea, and spa water. I won't have to be grumpy for too much longer, though, because in just a month and a half it will be Fall - Halloween, Thanksgiving, cooler weather, and pumpkin flavored everything!
So enjoy my images of my summer, and once you're done here, don't forget to visit our other bloggers, including Bay Area Birth, Newborn and Baby photographer Kristy G. Photography.
We've seen a lot more spiders out and about around our apartment this summer. One seems to love our balcony.
Unless we're out the door before 8AM on the weekend, it's usually too hot out to enjoy our usual hike.
Chilled white wine is definitely a perk of the summer season.
He may be cute and cuddly, but his long hair is everywhere in our apartment when it's hot out.
Our air conditioner is on constantly during the summer. Not only are we in a second floor apartment, our balcony door faces the west... which means super warm afternoons. And we only have one wall unit in our living room, so our bedroom is super muggy.
In Loving Memory
