Red, White, & Blue - Contrasting Colors with a Deeper Meaning

July 27, 2016  •  3 Comments

This month's theme challenge for the blog circle that I'm apart of is "Red, White, and Blue." I knew I wanted to participate because it's been forever since I've done a blog, but I wasn't sure which direction I wanted to go in. After struggling with several ideas, I decided to incorporate another blog I've been meaning to write recently that I thought would fit quite well with the theme. So here we go...

Red, white, and blue... three contrasting colors that stand for so much. It's the color scheme of our great country, patriotism, pride, loyalty, respect... The colors of our nation were chosen carefully: white stands for purity and innocence, red for hardiness and valor, and blue for vigilance, perseverance and justice.

Over the last few months, I've had the honor of meeting and creating portraits of extraordinary men, women, and children who embody at least one of these attributes. They are students, volunteers, artists, entrepreneurs, and families, all wanting to grab on to that American Dream. With all the chaos in our beloved country today, these citizens are what make me hopeful for a better tomorrow.

After you're done here, head on over to North Carolina military homecoming Photographer, Lauren Nygard's blog, and see how she's showing off Red, White, and Blue.
