It's 2015! I don't know about everyone else, but I am super excited for this year because... "5" is a lucky number for me, I will be turning the big 30 in December, and it's the year that Marty McFly visited in Back to the Future II.
Like most people are prone to do, I started thinking about how I'm going to be a "new and better me" this year. There are the usual resolutions (eat better, work out more, save more money, etc.), but I also wanted to use this year to focus more on photography.
For the last few months I've thought about challenging myself with a 365 Project, also known as a Picture a Day Project. I thought this would be a great way to work on different styles and techniques that intimidate me or are ones that I usually don't use in my photography. So I've decided that each week I will pick a different theme.
For my first week of my 365 Project, I chose back lighting. Back lighting is pretty self explanatory: the light used to emphasize the photograph's subject comes from behind said subject. It's great way to show off a subject that is translucent, give it a glowing or "halo" effect, or create unique shadows or silhouettes.
So here are the first seven images of my 365 Project. Be sure to come back next Wednesday for week two's theme and collection.
I hope you've enjoyed my photos portraying back lighting. Click HERE to see all of my 365 Project's photos (including a few extras)!
